Steelhenge reports increasing international demand for emergency planning, business continuity and crisis management expertise
Steelhenge Consulting, one of the UK's leading specialists in organisational resilience, emergency planning and business continuity, has reported a significant increase in demand for its services from countries outside of the United Kingdom. In the past year, Steelhenge has been commissioned to provide specialist advice on emergency planning, business continuity and crisis management in Europe, India, Turkey and the Middle East. The increase in demand is thought to be a result of numerous factors, including the impact of international terrorism, threats posed by adverse environmental conditions and increasing levels of corporate governance and responsibility. Isobel Nicholas, Director of Marketing and Communications for Steelhenge said; "The increase in demand over the past year has been quite remarkable. For example, we have provided emergency planning expertise for major sporting venues in India, following the recent events in Mumbai. That work incorporated the creation of emergency plans with key individuals at the venues, and a significant amount of staff training. We have also completed a very interesting project for a mining and exploration company in Turkey in which we provided emergency planning and emergency evacuation expertise. Our business continuity consultancy was also requested by a financial services company in Turkey, including the development of a crisis management plan in the event of an earthquake."
Steelhenge has also worked with international organisations at a governmental level, as Isobel described; "We've carried out business continuity and crisis management projects at both a government and corporate level in the Middle East and also provided crisis management services to a major European governmental organisation." When asked why Steelhenge is being asked to partner with so many overseas organisations, Isobel replied; "I think there is a very positive perception of specialist UK consultancies like Steelhenge; the organisations who have asked us to provide our services perceive us as experts in the resilience field and innovative in our application of the principles of business continuity and crisis management. Even though we are based in the UK, the last year has really seen us emerge into the global business continuity arena."
