Steelhenge business continuity consultant contributes to revised BCI Good Practice Guidelines through peer review panel feedback
The Business Continuity Institute has released a revised version of its business continuity Good Practice Guidelines following a peer review process that included Steelhenge's senior business continuity consultant Doug Kettle (MBCI). The 2010 Global Edition is produced for business continuity practitioners, consultants, auditors and regulators, providing a body of knowledge on business continuity management based on real world experience.
"Doug Kettle (MBCI) is a senior consultant in our Business Continuity team and has over twenty years of experience in business continuity management, incident management, risk management and ICT continuity. That practical experience and extensive knowledge made him an ideal member of the peer review panel for the latest edition of the BCI Good Practice Guidelines," explained Isobel Nicholas, Director of Marketing and Communications for Steelhenge. "The peer review process is critical; it ensures that all details have been checked by professionals in the field, adding intellectual rigour and the benefit of professional experience to the practical implementation of business continuity management."
The 2010 Global Edition places more emphasis on global trends and issues and covers the six phases of the BCM Lifecycle. The new edition links these phases more directly to six ‘Professional Practices' encompassing BCM policy and programme management, embedding BCM in the Organization's Culture and the technical practices of understanding the organisation, determining BCM strategy, developing and implementing a BCM response and exercising, maintaining and reviewing.
