Business Continuity Training

We offer a variety of courses in Business Continuity Management and ICT Continuity from introductory awareness courses to practitioner level training. So, whether you are looking to learn about Business Continuity as a discipline, raise awareness of business continuity plans within your organisation, gain an awareness of business continuity within a management role or are a business continuity specialist, we will be able to cater for your training needs.
Course Options
The Business Continuity courses may be taken individually or combined with modules from the other resilience courses to meet your specific requirements. We also offer a range of other courses in our resilience training portfolio.
Training offerings are appropriate to organisations with BCM programmes at all levels of maturity. In general, the following guidelines for suitability will apply:
Introductory courses are aimed at those new to BCM who require an understanding of the subject but who are not practitioners. These may include managers and senior managers who have an input to the BCM process but are not directly involved in its detailed implementation. General awareness courses are designed for those employees who are not assigned roles within the business continuity response, but who need to have an understanding of the organisation's BCM arrangements. This training can be designed to meet the specific requirements of ISO 22301.
Practitioner courses are aimed at those who are directly involved in developing, implementing or maintaining the BCM programme. These are likely to be new BC managers or members of a BC Team, but may also include business representatives who are required to play a role in the BCM process.
Specialist training addresses some of the more common areas where a more detailed examination of specific issues and methodology may be of benefit. Typically, these courses will be of interest to practitioners who have responsibilities in these areas such as BC managers, IT managers, Procurement Managers or those from particular types of organisation, telecoms, energy, local or central government. A wide range of specialist courses may be designed to match a customer's specific requirements.
BCI Certification training introduces the Business Continuity Institute's Good Practice Guidelines (BCI GPG). The course leads to an understanding of the processes and practical steps to follow when establishing a BCM programme. Delegates have the option to take the BCI Certification exam at the end of the course leading to the CBCI qualification if successful.
Bespoke business continuity courses, on-site delivery
The courses will be tailored to meet your business objectives, culture and the needs of your staff, their role and level of expertise. Our delivery is supported by a training needs analysis to provide focus and objectivity and a maturity model is offered to track progress through the lifecycle of a training programme. This ensures your staff will gain maximum value from your investment in the training.
Our courses are delivered on-site at a location of your choice.
Making business continuity training real and relevant
All our trainers have operational experience which means they bring their business continuity training alive with real life examples and experience of 'working in the field'. They will also use case studies from your sector or organisation to guarantee relevance.
Putting business continuity principles into practice
To further augment learning, we can deliver facilitated business continuity workshops and practical sessions as part of the training course. This gives delegates the chance to put their learning into action in a safe environment with assistance at hand to answer questions. Examples of previous workshops are 'Conducting a business impact analysis' and 'Conducting a risk assessment'. Research and experience shows this leads to a step change in learning outcome.
E-learning and computer-based training
Steelhenge also develops comprehensive e-learning packages. These can be delivered to delegates as a preparatory stage to on-site training, instead of face to face training or as part of an ongoing learning programme.
